Car Rental in Marbella
Forget the "or similar" lottery. At CarVia Marbella you get exactly the car you booked: the model, the spec, the engine. That's our guaranteed-model promise, and on the Costa del Sol it matters more than anywhere: nobody wants to pull up at Puerto Banús in the "similar" car. Whether it's a Porsche 911 for the hairpins up to Ronda or a BMW X7 for a family fortnight between Málaga and Sotogrande, that's the car waiting for you.
Our Marbella hub sits on Avenida Arias Maldonado, one block from the Paseo Marítimo and a five-minute walk from the Old Town. We run it in tandem with our partner Hertz, so you get a proper walk-in station with staff on site, not a parking lot and a phone number.
Rather want your dream car delivered? We'll bring the car to you: to Málaga Airport, your hotel or villa, or any address, in Marbella, along the whole Costa del Sol and, if you like, anywhere in the EU.

Getting here from the airport
Málaga - Costa del Sol Airport (AGP) is about 55 km east, roughly 45 minutes via the AP-7 toll road or an hour on the free A-7.
Rather skip the transfer altogether? We deliver directly to Málaga Airport and hand the car over at the terminal: the easiest way to start a Costa del Sol trip.
Delivery & collection
Airport, hotel, villa or any address of your choice, in Marbella, along the Costa del Sol and across the EU.
Choose "Deliver to address" in the booking tool and enter your location; the final price is shown before you book. Collection at the end of your rental works the same way.

Such an awesome experience! Rented a BMW M3 and the ride was such an amazing experience. Pick up was in Munich and drop off was in Salzburg and each time was ABSOLUTELY seamless. Will definitely rent again when I'm in Germany!
I hired an M3 Touring through this outfit and it was a great experience. The guy who handed over the car was really accommodating and helpful. The car was phenomenal and everything in the process was super simple and straight forward. Definitely recommend!
The best prices for cars in Germany. Good communication with customers, the deposit was returned the next day. I recommend👍
Great company. Rented a GT4 in Stuttgart, they took the time to walk around the car to document any damages, asked for me to take pictures and videos. Great process, Car was clean and in excellent shape. Super service, could not be happier. I will have to do a trip every year from now on.
Fantastic service that I wish we had in Australia. Will definitely use again when in Germany. Great selection of cars at reasonable prices with great professional service. Had a Cayman GTS this time around for a few days and look forward to trying some of the other fleet vehicles next time!
Driving & parking in Marbella
The Costa del Sol was made for driving, but there are a few things worth knowing before you turn the key:
Two coast roads, one of them tolled
The A-7 is the free coastal highway: it runs right through Marbella, has a roundabout every kilometer, some of the busiest speed cameras in Spain and, in July and August, the traffic to match.
The AP-7 runs parallel a few kilometers inland, is nearly empty and costs money: Málaga to Marbella is €5.70 out of season and €9.25 in summer (June to September, plus Easter week), Málaga to Estepona €9.55 or €15.50, with the Marbella bypass in between free.
Barriers take cards. Our tip: AP-7 to get places, A-7 to get lunch.
Parking: blue is paid, green is longer stay, the Old Town is on foot
Blue-marked bays (zona azul) are cheap by Spanish standards:
€0.75 for the first hour, €1.55 for the 2-hour maximum.
Monday to Friday 9 am to 2 pm and 4:30 to 8:30 pm, Saturday 9 am to 2 pm; outside those hours and on Sundays they're free.
Green bays (zona verde) allow up to 5 hours for €4.70.
Pay at the meter or with the EasyPark app. The Old Town is largely pedestrian, don't even try. The APK2 Arias Maldonado garage is right by our station and open 24 hours (book the day rate through the APK2 app, it's noticeably cheaper than paying at the machine), and Parking Alameda sits at the foot of the Old Town.
In Puerto Banús, the front row is for berth holders; use the SABA garage at Plaza Antonio Banderas or El Corte Inglés, and walk the last five minutes.
Low Emission Zone (ZBE)
Marbella's ZBE covers only the Old Town and central San Pedro de Alcántara. All CarVia cars are cleared either way, so there's nothing you need to do.
Roundabouts, the Spanish way
Stay in the outer lane unless you're going more than halfway round, and expect locals to exit from the inside lane anyway.
Indicate, don't assume, and give way to anyone already on the roundabout.
Mountain roads
The A-397 from San Pedro up to Ronda is 50 km of the best driving in Andalusia: hairpins, 1,000 m of climbing and sea views on the way back down. It's also busy with cyclists at weekends and slow trucks on weekdays, so overtake only where the road opens up.
The A-355 via Ojén and the road to Istán are quieter alternatives with the same character.
Speed limits & fines
30 km/h (19 mph) on most single-lane streets in town, 50 km/h (31 mph) on the main avenues, 90 km/h (56 mph) on conventional roads and 120 km/h (75 mph) on motorways, though the A-7 through Marbella is signed 80 or 100 for long stretches and camera-enforced.
The blood alcohol limit is 0.5 g/l, 0.3 g/l for drivers in their first two years. Fines are steep, but if you pay within 20 days you get a 50% discount.
Marbella Car Rental FAQ
Book online, choose "Pick up at station" for our hub in Marbella or "Deliver to address" for Málaga Airport, your hotel, villa or any other location.
On your rental start date, the exact car you booked is ready at the agreed place and time. At the station, our team walks you through the car and you're on your way in minutes. For deliveries, one of us meets you, hands over the keys and does the walk-around with you on the spot.
The minimum age depends on the model. You'll see the exact requirement for each car during booking.
Drivers who reached the minimum age less than two years ago pay a young driver fee and can't reduce the insurance deductible.
We accept driver's licenses from all over the world, provided you have held it for at least one year.
If your license is not printed in Latin script (e.g. Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic), please bring an International Driving Permit in addition to your original license.
US, Canadian, UK and EU licenses are fine as they are.
Yes. One-way rentals are available across Europe: pick up in Marbella and drop off in Barcelona, Mallorca, Munich or any other CarVia hub or place of your choice.
