Station-based carsharing

With station-based carsharing you can book a car on the spot or months in advance, ideal if you like to plan reliably. Every car also has a fixed parking spot where it is picked up and returned. No searching for parking, because the spot is reserved exclusively for that car.

Free-floating carsharing

With free-floating offers, the cars are spread freely across an operating area. You find them wherever they are and park them on almost any legal spot after your trip. Maximum flexibility, but no guarantee that a car is nearby and no reserved parking spot when you end the trip.

With station-based carsharing, the car is parked right in your neighborhood at a fixed station and you unlock it with the app. No handover, no counter visit. Gas or charging is already included.

With traditional car rental you also reserve in advance, but you pick the car up at a rental hub, usually with a personal handover. Fuel or charging is not always included.

No, the CarVia app and the registration for our carsharing are completely free.
You only pay when you actually drive a CarVia Share.

Registration is quick and easy. You just need your driver's license, ID or passport and a payment method, and you need to be over 18 (the minimum age may be higher for specific models). We then verify your registration in under 5 minutes.

So less than 10 minutes after downloading the app, you're sitting in our car and driving off.

As early as you like, even months ahead. That makes station-based carsharing ideal for planned trips or vacations.

You can change or cancel your booking free of charge up to one hour before it starts. You can also extend a running rental, as long as the car is available.

Billing starts at one hour, which is also the minimum booking duration.

Yes, every car has its own reserved parking spot. Should it be occupied for once, please call us and park nearby if possible. If you can't end the rental because you're too far from the station, we'll help you by phone. Outside our service hours, send us an email and leave the car in parking mode on another spot. We'll end the rental for you and refund the extra time.

All cars come with liability and comprehensive insurance. The standard deductible is €1,500. For €5 per trip, your deductible drops to €0.

Important: comprehensive coverage does not apply in cases of gross negligence or intent. Damage must always be reported, even with the additional coverage. You can find the details in our terms and conditions.

Yes, child seats and infant carriers can be added to your booking free of charge. Please send an email to support@carvia.de right after booking so we can arrange it. The request has to reach us at least 48 hours before the rental starts.

Yes, roof boxes can be added free of charge for selected cars. Please email support@carvia.de before booking. Our support team will check availability and suitable cars for you. The request has to reach us at least 48 hours before the rental starts so we can arrange it.
