Where to drive a BMW around Frankfurt
Autobahn: the A5 and A3 out of Frankfurt are the classic unrestricted stretches - the A3 takes you to Cologne in 90 minutes or to Nuremberg in two hours.
Rhine and Moselle: the Rheingau wine villages start 30 minutes west, the castles of the Middle Rhine Valley are a UNESCO site, and the Moselle loops are the best driving roads in the region.
Heidelberg and the Black Forest: Heidelberg is an hour south, Baden-Baden 90 minutes, and the Black Forest High Road starts right behind it.
Neighbors: Luxembourg in 2.5 hours, Strasbourg in 2.5, Amsterdam in 4.5 - Frankfurt is the best starting point in Germany for a multi-country trip.

Pickup or delivery: pick up your BMW at our Frankfurt rental hub at Hamburger Allee 2, inside the Marriott Hotel at the Messe (one U-Bahn stop from the main train station), or we deliver it to your hotel or to Frankfurt Airport (FRA), the main gateway for flights from the US.
Driver's license: a US or Canadian driver's license is all you need - no international driving permit required. Bring your passport.
Minimum age: 25 years for the M cars; for some BMW models it is lower - the booking process tells you.
Deposit: blocked on a credit card in the renter's name, never charged. Debit cards are not accepted. The amount is shown during booking.
Cancellation: free of charge up to one week before pickup.
Return: most of our hubs have 24/7 key safes, so a late return after a day on the Rhine is no problem.

Select the cross-border option during booking and the car is covered for your route. France and Luxembourg are both less than three hours from Frankfurt.
