Where to drive a convertible from Paris
Roll along the Seine and past the Eiffel Tower early in the morning, then leave the city behind: Versailles is about 30 minutes away, Monet's garden in Giverny a little over an hour, and the Champagne vineyards around Reims and Épernay under two hours east. For a longer trip, the Normandy coast with Honfleur and Deauville is about two and a half hours west. The best season for the top down runs from May to September.
French autoroutes are limited to 130 km/h (81 mph), or 110 km/h (68 mph) in the rain, and most of them are toll roads. Looking for stretches without a speed limit? With the cross-border option, the German Autobahn is about four hours east of Paris.
