I hired an M3 Touring through this outfit and it was a great experience. The guy who handed over the car was really accommodating and helpful. The car was phenomenal and everything in the process was super simple and straight forward. Definitely recommend!
Such an awesome experience! Rented a BMW M3 and the ride was such an amazing experience. Pick up was in Munich and drop off was in Salzburg and each time was ABSOLUTELY seamless. Will definitely rent again when I'm in Germany!
Great company. Rented a GT4 in Stuttgart, they took the time to walk around the car to document any damages, asked for me to take pictures and videos. Great process, Car was clean and in excellent shape. Super service, could not be happier. I will have to do a trip every year from now on.
The best prices for cars in Germany. Good communication with customers, the deposit was returned the next day. I recommend👍
Fantastic service that I wish we had in Australia. Will definitely use again when in Germany. Great selection of cars at reasonable prices with great professional service. Had a Cayman GTS this time around for a few days and look forward to trying some of the other fleet vehicles next time!

How renting a convertible at CarVia works
Book online in a few minutes: pick the car and your dates in the booking bar. The mileage package and the insurance option you choose are part of the price you see, and so is the delivery fee if you want the car brought to your hotel or the airport. On site, your rental agent hands over the car and explains the top, the drive modes and the quirks, so the fun starts the moment you get the keys.
One-way rentals between our stations are possible - Frankfurt to Munich along the Romantic Road, say, or Hamburg to Berlin - see our one-way rental page. Cross-border trips are allowed to Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy, France, Monaco, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Portugal and mainland Spain; just select the option during booking.
What you need: a valid driver's license - a US or Canadian license is accepted as is, no international permit needed - your passport, and a credit card in the renter's name for the deposit, which is only blocked, never charged. Drivers must be 25 or older for the more powerful models. Cancellation is free up to a week before pickup.
The best convertible roads in Germany (and just across the border)
From Munich: the German Alpine Road from Lindau on Lake Constance to Berchtesgaden, 280 miles of lakes, passes and castles - and the big Alpine passes across the border, Großglockner, Timmelsjoch and Stelvio, are two to three hours away.
From Frankfurt, Nuremberg or Stuttgart: the Romantic Road from Würzburg to Füssen and Neuschwanstein Castle, 220 miles of medieval towns; the Black Forest High Road from Baden-Baden; the castles of the Rhine valley between Rüdesheim and Koblenz.
From Hamburg and Berlin: the Baltic coast, Sylt and the lakes of Mecklenburg. And in between, the autobahn - the unrestricted stretches are the reason many of you fly over in the first place. Convertible season runs roughly April to October; in winter the cars run on winter tires, as German law requires in wintry conditions, and the top stays up.
FAQ
There's no need to worry. Convertibles are just as weatherproof as vehicles that have no option to open the roof. So there's nothing more to keep in mind than keeping the top closed in the rain, of course.
Convertibles come in two versions: with a sporty soft top or a classic hardtop. Driving a convertible today is especially comfortable, because the tops open and close automatically - a clear step forward, considering that the top used to have to be operated by hand while standing up. The trunk is somewhat limited, it's true, but anyone who chooses a convertible is mainly there for the driving experience. And if your luxury convertible does get dirty, it can be cleaned in a car wash without any problem - regardless of the top type. In the mood for an unforgettable driving experience? You're welcome to take our convertibles abroad. To do so, select the "cross-border travel" option during the booking process. There you'll also see which countries you're now allowed to take the rental car to.
Yes. A valid US or Canadian driver's license is all you need, no international driving permit required. Bring your passport and a credit card in the renter's name for the deposit - the deposit is only blocked on the card, never charged. Drivers must be 25 or older for the more powerful models.
Yes. Choose "Deliver to address" during booking, enter your hotel or the airport - Munich (MUC), Frankfurt (FRA), Berlin (BER), Hamburg (HAM), Stuttgart (STR), Düsseldorf (DUS) or Nuremberg (NUE) - and the delivery fee is shown instantly. Our team hands over the car there and can collect it there again at the end of your rental.
For the passes, a 911 Cabriolet or a Boxster: precise, light, and the sound bounces off the rock walls. For four people and luggage, the CLE 53 Cabriolet or the 430i. For pure fun on the autobahn, the Mustang GT.
Yes. Our convertibles run year-round; in winter they come with winter tires, as German law requires in wintry conditions. Prices are usually lower from November to March, and with the top up a modern convertible is as quiet and warm as a coupe.
Yes, one-way rentals between our stations are possible - the fee is shown during booking. See our one-way rental page for the details.
