What do you need to rent a Porsche in Germany?
Are you wondering what you need to consider in order to rent a Porsche from CarVia? Four things:
- A valid driver's license. US and Canadian licenses are accepted as they are, no international permit needed.
- An identification document: passport or ID card.
- A credit card in the renter's name for the security deposit. The deposit is blocked, not charged, and released after the rental.
- Minimum age 25 for the most powerful models, lower for some; the exact minimum age, deposit amount and required years of license are shown for each car during booking.
Frequently asked questions about renting a Porsche in Germany
If you plan to drive abroad, you can add an international fee during the booking process. The countries you are allowed to travel to with the rental vehicle will be displayed during the booking process. Currently that covers Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy, France, Monaco, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Spain (mainland) and Portugal. The Czech Republic and Poland are not part of the list.
The deposit amount varies depending on the model you choose. For exclusive special models like the Porsche GT3 RS, the deposit is naturally higher than for other sports cars of the brand. You can find the exact deposit requirements directly on the model page of your desired vehicle or during the booking process. Please note that the deposit must always be provided exclusively via credit card.
Of course. You can edit or cancel your booking anytime. Simply do so in your customer account. Cancellation is free of charge up to one week before pickup.
Yes. We accept US and Canadian driver's licenses without an international driving permit. Bring your passport and a credit card in your name, and you are set.
Yes. We deliver to hotels and airports across Germany, including MUC, FRA, HAM, BER, STR, DUS and NUE. Munich Airport has no station of its own, so delivery is the way to go there; in Berlin our station sits right next to BER.
Yes. Large parts of the German autobahn have no speed limit, and our Porsches are built for exactly that. Keep an eye on the signs: limits apply around cities, in construction zones and in bad weather, and 130 km/h (81 mph) is the advisory speed.
